Macromatic offers a wide variety of Time Delay Relays (sometimes referred to as time relays or timers). Four types of mounting configurations for time delay relays are available. Each time relay series has a variety of functions, time-setting methods & output configurations. Pick the exact time delay relay product to meet your requirements.

Largest Selection of Time Delay Relays in the Industry

Time Delay Relays with plug-in enclosures use 8- or 11-pin octal sockets that mount on 35 mm DIN-rail or to a panel with two screws. Encapsulated designs are compact, low-cost, and resistant to the effects of harsh environments. DIN-rail mounted timers are easily installed, saving space and installation costs. Relays with DIN-16 mounting can be door mounted for easy access without opening the door. If you need help picking the right relay, contact us.

PLUG-IN

The time delay on TR-5 and TR-6 Series Relays is analog set. TD-7 Series Relays use pushbutton thumbwheels to set the time range, time delay, and function. TD-8 Series Relays use two 10-positon DIP-switches for programming.

ENCAPSULATED

THR-1 and THR-3 Series have 10A SPDT relay output. THS-1, THL-1 and THL-8 have 1 A Normally Open solid-state output. A 10-position DIP-switch is used to program the THL-8 Series uses. Time delay is analog set on other encapsulated series.

17.5mm WIDE, DIN-RAIL

Choose from single function – single time (TE5 Series), single function – multi-time (TE6 Series), or multi-function (TE681 or TE-881 Series). These compact relays mount on 35 mm DIN-rail to conserve space and reduce installation time.

30 AMP ENCAPSULATED

High Amp TH4 Series effectively and economically control heavy loads without a separerate contactor. The relays combine time-based control with high amperage switching capacity in compact 2” x 3” encapsulated enclosures.

1/16 DIN MOUNTING

Relays with 1/16 DIN style enclosures include an adapter for panel or surface mounting. TAA Series use a large dial to set the time delay.

WHAT TERMINALS WILL WORK WITH MACROMATIC SOCKETS?

WHAT IS THE CURRENT OR POWER DRAW OF YOUR RELAYS?

Macromatic relays specify the power consumed by the device as “burden” in units of VA. Look for the burden specification in the catalog page for the specific device you have. The unit of VA(volt-amps) is essentially the same as Watts(power), current draw can be calculated in Amps by taking the VA specification and dividing by the voltage control voltage you are using to power the device.

CAN I SET THE ON TIME AND OFF TIME SEPARATELY ON A CYCLE TIMER?

If you need to set the ON and OFF time independently on a cycle timer then you need to select a product with either Repeat Cycle ON or repeat cycle OFF function. Although the operation is similar, Flasher ON and Flasher OFF function do not allow for independent setting of the ON and OFF times.

NEED A TIME DELAY RELAY TO POWER A COOLING FAN. WHEN THE EQUIPMENT TURNS OFF, I WANT TO RUN THE FAN FOR 1-2 MINS TO COOL IT DOWN.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM DURATION OF A TRIGGER PULSE TO A TIME DELAY RELAY?

Product specifications for all Macromatic time delay relays state a minimum of 50 ms in length for the application of a trigger.

HOW DO I GET A TIME DELAY RELAY FOR 208/220VAC CONTROL VOLTAGES?

Macromatic time delay relays rated for 240VAC have an operating range of 204-264VAC for control voltage and are suited for 208/220/230/240/250V applications.

I WANT TO TURN ON AN AIR SOLENOID AND HAVE IT STAY ON FOR 10 SECONDS WHEN A PHOTO EYE IS TRIPPED. AFTER IT TIMES OUT IT NEEDS TO BE RESET. I PICKED TE-8812U. I AM NOT SURE WHICH FUNCTION WOULD WORK BEST. I ALSO NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING HOW TRIGGER S WORKS.

The function you are describe is the Retriggerable One Shot, setting E. The timing will start when there is a connection between A1 and S. This can be accomplished with a momentary or sustained switch placed between the two terminals.
